Are you daft? They were referring to the arcade game when they talked
about the Playstation board.

The Dreamcast version of the game was vastly superior to the arcade
version that was released over a year earlier. It had noticeably
better graphics, more balanced gameplay, new costumes, new game modes,
Cervantes as a playable character, as well as other extras.

When the Dreamcast game came out, it was hailed as the best looking
video of all time - console, arcade or otherwise.

And with a VGA adapter on a PC monitor it looked AMAZING!
Then again the VGA adapter made "nearly" every DC game look amazing.

I never had a chance to try this out myself but heard from all my
Dreamcast-owning friends that it was impressive.

I said it right.

That's why I said "upgraded PlayStation1-based System 12"

System 12 was an upgraded PS1-based board. Faster clockspeed.

The System 11 that ran Tekken, Tekken 2 and Soul Edge, was not
upgraded over the PS1, it was equivalent of PS1.

I still have my Soul Calibur for the Dreamcast (and still play
every so often); If there is enough difference to justify it, I'd
buy it for the 360...

Waste of time.
SCIV will be out before this and will have online play. What's the point of
bringing this out after SCIV? Talk about a waste. It would have been
freaking awesome if it was out right now or a couple months ago.

Wouldn't hurt my feelings if they did what they did with Tekken 5 (as in
include the earlier, or at least Soul Blade and Soul Calibur arcade
as bonuses on the disc)...But even if they didn't it still isn't a deal-
breaker for me...

I don't know about you guys but I still prefer Soul Calibur on the
Dreamcast over either of its sequels.

This new one coming out looks pretty good visually but will the
gameplay go back to the more balanced days of Soul Calibur or will it
follow in the footsteps of 2 and 3?

No argument.
I thought it was the best too. I just wish it was coming out now instead of
after IV.
Once I get my Vader (and Yoda) on I don't think I will want to go back to
old school.

You're going to buy both versions just to have both characters? Did
you do the same for that 3-platform release in the previous gen?

For someone that said above "Talk about a waste" that seems a *tad*
wasteful, doesn't it?

:-)

No, no, no.
I am counting on the characters being downloadable sooner or later.
Without question I am getting SCIV for the PS3 because of the controller.
The only way I will pick it up for the 360 is if Namco releases some type of
controller for it. The 360 d pad is horrible for fighting games.

Personally, I'd like to see more DC games come to XBL. Toy Commander,
Power Stone 2 anyone?

Heh, I was pretty happy to FINALLY get an arcade perfect version of Golden
Axe after all these years.

...then when I played through it a few times, I realized the Genesis version
was actually superior, and wondered why I even bothered.
